New New Year

"Today is the first day of the rest of you life"; how many times I have heard that, I may never know. To be honest, I have given up on the grand new years resolutions. Last year I had one. It was easier to keep then I thought it would be and I do believe I have grown both into it and from it. My resolution was simply to no longer invest in non-reciprocal relationships. The hope was that I would not only invest more of myself into the relationships that matter the most to me. Also it was to cut those relationships that were draining. So this year I have two resolutions. The first is to be more intentional in visiting family when I am able and the second is to not start a new project in one of my many hobbies without finishing the last one.

This year I am also keeping track of the recipes I make for my family as well as whether or not I will make them again. Two things I know I will have to make again so far and the recipes I want to try, I will. The family is on board, which is a good thing.

This year I am also going back to school. I have finally decided what I want to be when I grow up and it is about time I start working on it. Classes at the Technical College for me start on the 11th. With any luck I will keep a 3.0 GPA and be able to transfer to University in the fall of 2022. Then in 2024 when my son graduates from High School, I will be graduating from College with my BA in Middle School English and History. In all honesty, I can't wait to have my own classroom and I am very much looking forward to being a teacher. Since the spring of 2019 I have been a substitute teacher. I have been asked by many both teachers and school administrators why I don't have my own classroom. In four years, I will.

I am also going to be starting up my meal planning again and there are so many things I need to get back in the swing of around the house. This year is going to be different; I am going to be better, and the rest I will forgive myself for.

Be Blessed Dear Readers and this year, I wish you enough:

I wish you enough

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how grey the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

Five Reflections

It is Sunday night and I am late in both of my posts. I have decided to start with this one and will post the Bible Reading next (maybe tomorrow). Oh, how short but wide life is. Days can escape from your memory with the business of life. So bear with me Dear Reader and I pray that in the end you will be encouraged and hopefully challenged.

One: I have my own office at work. I am responsible for so much now. I guess those that have the authority at work have seen something in my ethic or diligence that they wanted to reward with more responsibility. I am grateful, humbled and a bit overwhelmed.  There is much work to do and I will do my best. One of my coworkers asked me how I felt about the new position; since it means that I will be held accountable for much and more in the office, including a new manager to report to. My response was simply :" I don't work for J, for T or for C. I don't even work for the county (although they send me a check); I work for the Lord. In the end it is Him I will answer to and not anyone else. So they can put me in whatever job they want. I will not change any part of how I work. Because it is not for them, it is not for a paycheck (although those are nice), I work for the Lord. Colossians 3:17 states: "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father though him." ESV Crossway 2011 edition. In that alone I find assurance and job security.

Two: I have been challenged to be still. I recently had the privilege of hearing a story. It is not my story, but I was blessed by it and hope that I remember enough of it to share with you.

Growing up my dad who was a private man, would sit in his recliner in the living room, reading a book or the newspaper.
As I would finish my chores on the way up to my room I would hear him tapping on the side of his chair.
His tapping would call to me though out my childhood and when I was younger I eagerly answered. Dad would sit and talk to me, at times just listen. As if all the things in my day and on my mind were the most important things to him.
As I got older in my teenage years I found excuses to not respond to the quiet tapping.
Although I did not respond, Dad was consistent. There was never a time I passed by him sitting in that chair that I did not hear his quiet call.
Time passed and I got married and moved away.
Then I received a call from Mom, Dad was sick and they were sure he would not last very long.
My husband and I drove up to see them. We stayed a while talking and catching up on things. Then as we were about to leave, I heard Dad tapping.
I looked at my husband and said: " I need to be here a little longer"
I turned and climbed up on the bed with Dad and just sat there with him. We held each other and spoke softly. After sometime, my husband and I left.
Very early the next day Mom called. Dad passed. My heart was heavy, but I was thankful that I answered his quiet call one last time.
There have been times since then, that I have looked back with regret on all those times Dad called me, yet I did not answer.

As a parent I believe I am called to work myself out of a job. To be a stepping stone for my children. I don't want them to be like me I want them to be better. When I heard the story above I was challenged. Do I quietly call my children to come so I can listen? When they do want to share with me, do I stop and give them all my attention so that they can see their value reflected in my treatment of them? Do my children know that I value them, I cherish them and how very very much they are loved? I have been challenged to be still, not just for myself, and for my children. But to be still before Heavenly Father. To sit at his feet and listen, to read his word and learn. If I am not still, then I am too busy, too distracted and overwhelmed. If I am still I will find peace, joy, hope, patience and I will be able to love others better. I challenge you as well, to be still.

Three: Really, I am only on 3?? Haha! Well, My three blessings. How much and how fast they are growing. All three are excelling in school and I am so very excited to see where they will go in life. Goosie is really into manga and comics. So I picked her up a new Bible . She decided to take it to school with her and now I almost don't see her without it. I asked her why she liked it, to which she replied: " I don't loose my place and I really enjoy reading it." SCORE for mom!! Miniman has decided that he wants to be an Eagle Scout. I know that he can do it. He has such drive and determination. I am so proud of him! Bittybit, well she is my bittybit! Sometimes I can finish her sentences before she does. I am praying hard for her, she is more like me then I want to admit. But oh the joy she brings.

Four: This week is Spring Break for my College boyfriend (Hubby)! I am looking forward to a few lunch dates this week and am hopeful that he will be able to get ahead on his assignments as well as relax. Hubby's midterms were last week and the worst grade he received was a B+. What a change his life has taken. I am so honored and privileged to share this life with him. I am so excited to see where Heavenly Father is going to take him!

Five:  Just some encouragement for you:

" For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 KJV Reference Bible Zondervan 1964 edition.

Until next time Dear Readers : " May the Lord Bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace"  Numbers 6:24-26 ESV crossway 2011 edition.

Love and Marriage

Marriage has been on my heart lately. Not just because I am married.. more because there is so much that I don't understand but fully appreciate about it. Hubby and I have been together for 13 years. Most days it seems just like yesterday, other times it seems like I have known him all my life.
There have been ups and there have been downs. Sometimes the ups out number the downs, other times the downs seem overwhelming. In the military I have seen many relationships. Some have been more grounded then others. While I have admired the relationships of others, I am ever grateful for mine. I wanted to write a little about that, and hope that you will bare with me,

Hubby and I have a wonderful working relationship. Last year he and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. My wonderful sister N sent us an anniversary card:

Love is not for sisses. Love is not all music and moonlight and romance.
Love, real love takes work. it takes patience and courage and commitment.
real love- the kind that makes two people make as promise as big as " I DO"-
isn't easy. but if anything in life is worth the effort, it's Real Love.
and if anyone deserves that kind of LOVE it's the two of you.

I was brought to tears. My sisters have had an almost front row seat to my marriage. There is much and more they don't know. We have had our trials and difficult situations. Through it all Hubby and I have been openly honest with each other. Hubby is my best friend and we tell each other almost everything. Almost, because there are somethings we choose to keep private.

I had many insecurities in the beginning. There was so much baggage that I brought into this relationship with because of my past. I remember the anxiety and the fear I had. That I would not measure up to some imagined vision of what a wife really was.  I admired the wives portrayed in the 50's. These surly were women that had it all together. I held myself to that standard for sometime. Hubby would come home from work and I would have dinner waiting. In the beginning the house would be clean, and once he came home there was nothing he had to do but relax. Then the children came, and the housework took a back seat to being a parent. I regretted the digression from having a neat and orderly house, to one of chaos and clutter. Then Hubby would remind me that he likes the home we have, and doesn't miss the house we used to.

I say all of this because so much of it ties into our marriage. Marriage is so much more than rainbows and butterflies. It is hard work that unless you have a great partner, it is tough to stay afloat. I can honestly say that Hubby loves me as Christ loves the Church. I know that he would do anything for me including laying down his life. Hubby has a chronic pain condition and it seeps into every part of our relationship. The simple overwhelming fact that he gets up everyday and makes an intentional effort to be a part of our families lives is amazing to me. Hubby doesn't give into the pain or the other baggage that threatens to take him away from us. He fights with every moment to be here, in the present.

This last year form 12 to 13 has been a difficult one. Years ago when Hubby had open spinal surgery I leaned on Heavenly Father just to breathe, I thought that I was close. But as life and little things do it got in the way and I drifted. Heavenly Father still watched and guided me, in all honesty I drifted away. Towards the end of the year things got rough. I could see how our relationship had deteriorated and that our children were suffering. Hubby went into the hospital as a last ditch effort to save his life and our marriage. Then I got a call. It was horrific. The nurse told me that Hubby almost died. I felt a black hole open up in my chest,  everything I had ever dreamed was getting sucked in and I was bereft. I have never felt so alone. I went to see an artist friend of mine S. I wanted a new tattoo. Something to remind me that this fight for Hubby's life is not over, that although I married Hubby, he does not belong to me, I asked my friend: " What do I do now?" S just looked at me and said " You go home and be the best Mom you can be for your kids, Don't worry about him, He is going to get the help he needs" . So I went home, On the way I called my brother in law D. I asked him to pray and I asked for his advise. D told me that I had to give all of Hubby to God. Every part of our marriage. All of the emotions and memories, all the hopes and dreams of the future and I would have to do so repeatedly. In angry bitter tears I thanked him and hung up. The drive home was difficult; I screamed, I cried, I begged. I prayed. I found peace; then came joy. It was still going to be hard, but I was confidant that  heavenly Father was going to see me through. When I got home I had the strength to do the best I could for the kids.

Hubby cam home about a week later. I have had the humble privilege of watching a change take over him. Our relationship changed, his walk with Heavenly Father changed, the way he parents the children beside me changed. There has been much change in the past 6 months. Recently when we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We had a Marriage Encounter one weekend, that one weekend changed everything again. There is an intimacy now in our relationship that did not exist before. There is a security and celebration not only in our commitment to each other, but in the welcoming of Heavenly Father in our marriage. I am humbled and excited to see where this road will take us. I am also more determined than before that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and His plan is far better then anything we could ever conceive .

Many times I wake in the morning with a song of praise on my lips, thankfulness in my heart and an excitement to discover what will happen next. There are other times admittedly that I awaken to a much somber emotion. However, I have learned that no matter the mood in which I greet the day, Heavenly Father will change my heart, if I humbly ask him to. There are so many ways that I see Heavenly Father's love though out my day. I encourage you dear readers to look, listen and be still. At times it is in the midst of the chaos that you will find peace. Be blessed.

It's Been A Month

Apologies Dear Readers. Between the move and everything that has gone with it. I have once again let you down. I must admit that this blog does not come first, my family does and so does my sanity. So if I happen to miss a day or a month. It is because they need me. The move has gone well, we are now in a home that we hope we never leave. It is a beautiful house, and it suits us well. I was able to get all three children enrolled for the reminder of the school year. I just dropped the two oldest off this morning. Bitty Bit will be attending 4K in the afternoon.
I realized this morning how much I love summer. I enjoyed it growing up because it meant no school. Now I look forward to the long days when the kids come in smelling like sweat and summertime. If you have been around little ones you know the smell that I am thinking of. Then their sweet faces still damp from the shower, hair plastered on their little foreheads..such wonderful days. I miss summer when the school year starts up and spring break is always so bitter sweet. It is long enough for you to get a taste of summer and with the weather here in the south, it is a tempting savor.
Hubby has been home, I can't seem to get enough time with him either. I love my family so much! I know that this time will only last a short while and that I need to wear myself out enjoying it. How bittersweet to know that I have prayed for each member of my little-big family. I prayed for Hubby years before I met him. We both prayed for each of the children and now little by little our babies are growing into something more. Something bigger then us. I now pray that God help me to equip them with all that they need to succeed in this life, and that I set a good enough example that I will spend eternity with them as well.
Home schooling has crossed my mind more then a few times. It has been on Hubby's mind as well. I am not sure yet where that will go, but am praying about it. If you would all agree with me that God will show me what to do in that situation., I would appreciate it. Home schooling is not something I could do on my own and I am certain that the only way I could do it is with God's guidance and help.
I was crying when I dropped Miniman off at school.. Hubby gave Miniman his summer time hair cut (a buzz).  So when Miniman looked back at me before running into school, I saw him smile and in my mind I was back at the day of his birth. His smile told me then as it did this morning: " I love you and I am glad to see you".
Until next time Dear Readers.. Be Blessed!

A Reminder

I cleaned out the truck this morning. Miniman got sick all over the back seat, on the way to the hospital. Although I did wipe down said truck shortly there after, it still reeked! Thus the cleaning of it today. I have had a lot of time to think about things lately, and doing the Bible Reading Study  has me marinating on a lot of stuff. With it being the new year many people are busy making and breaking resolutions. After my daily reading one day I realized what my word of the year was. The concept is a simple one- choose one word to fully embrace in the new year. A word that will guide you, transform you, inspire you and challenge you for the coming year. My word this year is Helpmeet. As I was cleaning the truck today I realize how diverse that word really is. It is not just about my relationship with Hubby, it is part of the center of our family life. How? Well, God made me as Hubby's equal but opposite submissive other half. I understand if that is a lot to take in. Once I started wrapping my head around it, I knew that some would consider me crazy mad.
It is not only our relationship that I am a helper with. I am charged to be his helper in every aspect of our lives. In many ways Hubby and I have stewardship of the blessings Heavenly Father has so richly bestowed upon us. One of which is our children, as children are a reward and blessing from the Lord. Everything we own, is a result of Him blessing us. There is nothing we have that is "ours". So Hubby and I are stewards of our three biggest blessings. Our children do not belong to us, how much more should we be careful in their care?!  So when Miniman was in the hospital this week, I was reminded. Reminded that Goosie, Miniman and Bitty-bit don't belong to me. They were each born with a purpose, it is up to Hubby and I to guide and nurture them in discovering who they are in Christ. There are things that parents go through and it is hard for them. It is even harder for the parent to be restrained on the sidelines as their child goes through things alone. I am intimately familiar with the migraines that run in my family. I am also familiar with how wonderful the Lord is at seeing me though. This is the comfort I can give to Hubby as his helpmeet; in turn this confidence can be seen by the children, thus allowing the rough waters to become a gentle rocking in Heavenly Father's arms as He carries them through.
If I were to get caught up in the whirlwind that gives Hubby and I ownership of things. It would be harder to let go and let God have his way. Who am I to tell God, the creator of everything that He cannot use Miniman for his purpose and glory? It is our job as his parents to show Miniman in our walks that God has everything under control, and that God works everything out for the good of those who love Him. We are his first teachers, and if we fail to teach him (and his sisters) about the Lord.. we are not good stewards of our blessings. In no way am I saying that Hubby and I are an example to everyone else. Rather, we are still learning and this is one thing that has been brought to my attention that I need to work on. To put it the right way: this is one more part of my life,  that I need to fully give over to the Lord so that He can be honored and glorified in it. Well, there is much to do. I have yesterday's reading to write about along with today's. Until next time dear Readers.. Be Blessed

Count Your Blessings

Once a week I have a standing lunch date with each of the children. I look forward to the individual time with them. When all three of them are home during the summer I have to be more intentional in special time, but with each school year I am afforded the opportunity to relish them for at least 30 minutes a week. It is never enough time. All the same however I am one of very few parents whom the school is on a first name basis with for a good reason. They see me at least once a week at the preschool and twice a week at the elementary school. They are all familiar with my face, my children and my family. This is a good thing.  I would rather this be the reason the school knows my family so well rather than the alternative.
As the holidays are quickly approaching, so is the realization that orders will be coming soon. This will be our last big move. Hubby will retire in a year and the kids will no longer switch schools, states or districts unless We decide. I have been letting the schools and teachers know that we will not be here for the entire school year since the start of this school year. I have made no commitments to the schools or teachers, only doing the things I can when I can, to assist however I can. I let them all know last school year that they would have me and my family for as long as the Army allows and then we will move on.
Before we moved from Ohio, the elementary school Goosie went to greatly looked forward to Miniman attending their school. When I called over the summer and let the principal know that we had moved and sent along the records release papers, she voiced her disappointment. The sadness in her voice was palpable. But there was nothing I could do. Again I heard the sadness and disappointment today. Apparently Bitty-bit has been a source of exuberance for the office staff at the elementary school. They get to keep an eye on her and a few other bus riders from the preschool until the buses are loaded and ready to go home from the elementary school. Brainstorming was already happening and a kindergarten teacher being narrowed down for her, until I broke the news once again today. Yes, Hubby would be coming down with orders soon and no, I don't think we will be here for Christmas holiday's.
Apparently I am not the only one who sees Bitty-bit's strong personality. Upon meeting her some would think that she is the oldest, but she is the opposite. Bitty-bit has a strong will, but she also has compassion. I have seen her take charge and lead in her preschool class, but I have also seen her willing to step out and conquer whatever may lay ahead. So long as it doesn't involve cleaning her room. Each of the children have strong determination. Goosie allows herself to get overwhelmed at times and makes mountains out of mole hills. But the moment you tell her she can't do something, she will work like crazy to prove you wrong (like me). Miniman wants to get things done the right way according to him, sometimes it takes him a little longer. But his work is always complete and neat. Bitty-bit well, you can sum her up with one phrase: if there is a will there is a way. And she will find both!
The one thing that I have heard many times is that our children are well adjusted. No matter where we move, what house we live in or any thing else. The children thrive. I thank the Lord for that. With out Him I could not be the parent they need me to be. I remember praying over each of them while they were being knit together.~ Lord, make them strong. Make them whole. Make them yours. Mold me into the parent they need me to be and not the one society tells me I have to be. Give them a heart that seeks after you and assist me in guiding them. ~ Are our children perfect  No, but they are ours. God fashioned them in such a way to challenge us so that we would draw closer to him, and so that we could show them how to do the same. For that reason alone I count them as as blessing from the Lord.  Until next time dear readers, Be Blessed!

Just a regular Friday please..

Yesterday morning I awoke with thoughts of heaven. I leaned over Bitty-bit to reach Hubby and said: " I am so thankful we are both saved. When we get to heaven we will have new bodies; they will not know pain, suffering, sickness or disfigurement. We will be made whole, wonderful and we will still be together then." We kissed and then commenced to our morning routine of waking the children and getting them ready for the day ahead. Breakfast was served, children dressed and we were all off and ready for the day. Hubby only had two appointments and I expected him home at a decent time. I was off to a field trip with Bitty-bit  to discover the wonders of the pumpkin patch, honey bee's and a four year old's laughter.
I don't usually go on school field trips with the children. I insist that Hubby does, so that they have special time together. I hoard the children to myself at times (being a stay at home Momma affords me that) while he goes off to work and miss' the many wonderment's of childhood that I see daily. Bitty-bit and I rode the bus together and then sweated it out under the warm southern sun. I had forgotten that it doesn't get cold in the south as soon as it does in the north. After scampering through the corn maze. She and I looked at the honey bee's busy with their task, pet the goats, made funny faces at the lowing calf and finally picked the perfect two pumpkins. We all then loaded back into the school buses sleepy and hot. The windows were down, adults chatted over the din of wind and some children fell heavy in laps while others were still filled with exuberant energy. Bitty-Bit and I said good bye at the school, she wanted to ride the bus home and I found my way back to the two puppy boys itching for attention.
I had thought that the most exciting part of my day was over. The children clambered off the bus and after   devouring snacks homework was started, then completed. Goosie was working on her extra credit work, Miniman wanted to sculpt and paint clay as well, Bitty-Bit was content to paint as many pictures as her paint and brush would allow. Hubby called to say he wouldn't make it home in time for me to go to the PTA meeting that night and was going to ask one of the guys from the office if they could come help for a minute. I started dinner as help arrived. Shortly there after..I just wanted a regular Thursday night.
Hubby walked into the kitchen and looked strange. His usual pristine uniform was cut, bloodied and dirty. He had a bloody nose and there were cuts on his hands. As I took in his appearance I asked: " Honey, What happened?" He responded with " I don't know" Then I watched as his knees buckled. I ran forward to catch his head. I didn't want it to fall on the floor knowing there is only concrete under the linoleum. He was out.  I called 911, with the phone ringing in my ear I checked his pulse and breathing. The sparse training I had for emergencies was no where to be found. When the operator came on the line I did my best to tell her what happened. I am certain she could only make out frantic woman with someone in urgent need of help on the other end. I couldn't remember my phone number but I did remember to tell her that he was unresponsive, but breathing. I tried to tell her what my impossibly frozen brain didn't want to comprehend. That there was something terribly wrong with my husband and there was nothing I could do to fix the situation or make it better on my own. I don't remember my exact words, but when she gave me direction I did as I was told. The guy from the office helped me turn him onto his back and shortly there after he came to. That's when the call ended. Hubby was lucid enough to start giving me directions for his emergency care. As quickly as I could I loosed his belt and boots. I checked for his keys, phones and wallet. The only two things I didn't find were his GOC(government owned cell phone) and his wallet. This I made a mental note of but pressed on. Goosie stepped in and grabbed two pillows to prop up Hubby's feet and when the medic's arrived I was leaning over Hubby asking him what he remembered.
As the paramedic's clambered into what now seems a too narrow hall way. I was asked to step away as they took over. One distracted me with questions as two others deftly worked over Hubby. When the police officer came I was outside, the children had been sent upstairs and Hubby was still splayed on the floor in the kitchen. I was looking for his wallet and GOC. I answered questions again to the best of my ability but it was all just a blur. When I went in again to check on Hubby I was asked to leave they said as kindly as possible "Mam, you don't need to see this." I turned away thankful the children were upstairs. They had already seen their Daddy fall and Mommy close to lose it. The last thing they needed to see was anything I didn't need to see either. I tried calling those I know locally, but my mind was honestly blank. I could only think of calling my sister I. Of  all my sisters her schedule is at times the most flexible I called and told her I needed her. I am sure the rest was incoherent (as she later told me). The next call I made was to my Mom. Yes, I know she is in California but when I need my Momma, I need my Momma. While I was on the phone with my Mom my friend R called.  I had posted a cry for help on Facebook, she was on her way. No questions asked no explanation warranted. She knew I needed her and she came. When I finally got through to someone local they came over to help with the children. Hubby had left for the hospital some time before ( I ached to go with him and was angry that I couldn't, but my babies..). By the time J and her hubby got to the house two ours later, my sister I and niece M were pulling in.
J and her hubby drove me to the hospital. I took what I needed for an over night stay. I had no clue what condition Hubby was in nor what lay ahead of us. I did take a moment to pray. My Mom and sister I had prayed with me as well that night, but peace didn't envelop me until after I bowed my head to pray, thanking God for my wonderful Hubby the life we share, the joys and the sorrows. Afterwards I knew everything was going to be okay. Even if it wasn't an outcome that my head didn't want to grasp, in my heart I knew we would all be okay. The words I woke up with that morning came back to my ear and I was thankful for them once again. When we arrived at the hospital I rushed to be at his side. Once I was there, he was talking politics. That man of mine, I love him so severely.
R and her family arrived in time to give us a ride home. In my frantic grab and go thoughts I didn't think of clothing. Hubby arrived home last night in paper scrubs. But he arrived home. We all got the full story after the older children were tucked into bed. Bitty-bit is always the first to fall asleep, that night was no exception. Hubby's evening wen't something like this:
He was on his way to the office to switch out vehicles before heading home. As he was driving down the road he saw someone walking that fit the physical description of being eligible to join the military. So he stopped, asked the guy if he would like a ride and would listen to Hubby talk to him about his options in the military. Let me stop here and say that Hubby has actually recruited a few people this way. At some point the guy asked Hubby if he could make a call. The guy did so and sent a text. A short while later the guy asked Hubby to stop stating that he was okay to walk further. Hubby exited the vehicle to bid the guy farewell and let him know that the military didn't look like a viable option.  About this time something hit Hubby on the back of the head. What ever it was broke and knocked Hubby down. When he got up Hubby only saw the one guy. Hubby got back into the vehicle and started beating on the guy. As the guy was pilfering through the vehicle looking for valuables and money. As Hubby was pounding the guy, apparently the guy was cutting Hubby with something. When the guy relented Hubby took off the guy fell out as the vehicle sped off. Hubby came home.
I was shaken last night. Even after Hubby was home sleeping soundly as he could in our bed I still woke up often in the night thankful that he was still there beside me. Did the guy make off with some stuff? Yes, but anything on earth pales in comparison to those we love who we share our lives with. Whether as friends or lovers, acquaintances or someone we just happen to meet in passing. Everyone we meet has an impact on us. I know the guy my Hubby met yesterday will make me ever thankful for just a regular Thursday..or even a Friday for that matter. As long as I can share it with those I care about for as long as we can. That is one of the true treasures of life. Until next time dear readers, Be Blessed.

Update and Rambling

Next week Hubby is technically on leave, or as civilians would say paid vacation. I know that next week will run like any other week in the house. Due to his many doctors appointments it is hard to go anywhere. Add to that the MEB process and we really are staying home. The truth is I see him less when he is on leave then I do when he is not on leave. I am not sure how that works or really why. I hear many times of vacations to the beach, mountains or somewhere in between. I would love a family vacation. I would like to go somewhere just the two of us where we didn't have an agenda or kids. That day will come I just don't think it will come next week.
I bought new lunch boxes for the kids. I have seen the T.V. commercials for Pack-it and figured why not, it would certainly help keep things cold. After starting to pack the kids lunches I discovered that I wanted something more in a lunch box. Something that would keep the food cold, and not take up space I could use for food the way an ice pack or cube does. I even thought of making one myself. But common sense got a hold of me and I bought these:

One for each of the kids and one for either Hubby or myself. The kids have taken them to school for a day and so far so good the bento style lunches I pack are staying colder then they have previously. Here are some of the ones I have made:
Roast beef and provolone roll ups; 1/2 a pear; a homemade pretzel and homemade cheese crackers with a Hug to drink

Diced ham;sliced orange;carrots with ranch dip; homemade pretzel and white chocolate cream with milk to drink

Turkey spinach and ranch roll-ups; a pickle; carrots with hummus dip;green grapes; peanut butter chocolate banana nilla  sandwiches with milk to drink

Chicken salad;broccoli spears;jello; banana peanut butter chocolate roll-ups; string cheese; crackers; pretzel sticks and milk to drink

I have had to rework the packing of the lunches a little due to the amount of space in the Pack-it. I already had all the things I needed so it wasn't that big of a deal. Better lunches all around!! The kids were excited when they took there new lunch boxes to school yesterday and gave a good report on them upon returning home.  When I emptied the pack-it's  of the food containers I was pleased that they were still quite cool on the inside. I am confidant that they kept the kids lunches better chilled then any other lunch box system we have used in the past and are well worth the money spent.
We have also added to our family recently. His name is Koda and he is an adorable ball of fur!

Koda with Hubby on adoption day
I was not expecting this little guy to join our family, but he has for better or worse and we are thankful to have him. Each of the girls has tried to claim Koda as their own, but Hubby is adamant that Koda belongs to him.
We still have heard nothing as far as orders go for where/when we will be leaving the home we are in now. That hasn't really stopped the leasing company from renting it out already. That's right someone is slated to move into the house we are currently occupying on the 21st of this month. We have yet to give any sort of written notice or anything else. Oh the joy, but we are paid up through the end of September and are on a month to month lease until Hubby's orders come in. The new tenets are not my problem, they are the leasing companies problem. I understand the homeowners position is not one that they can afford a rent and a mortgage.. but this is a little out of hand. I have a peace that all of this will work out and will be praying for them and everyone else involved.
I have started pulling away. I have never been good at saying goodbye. That word seems so final to me. I can't remember the last time we went to a going away party in our honor. I think it would be too much. Everyone I meet and make friends with means so much to me.. not just for the time I am there, but always. I am selfish. I know. When I leave I don't want to say good bye. I would rather remember the last time I saw my friend both of us thinking that it wouldn't be long until we saw each other, laughed together, hugged or went shopping. I carry them all with me in my heart. I am thankful for Facebook and Twitter that keeps me connected with some of them and email that keeps me connected with others. I don't call like I should nor do I write. But I carry them with me. I am selfish and I hope that the ones I have left behind will forgive me. Hubby and I have made as many moves as years we have been married.. and that is a lot for anyone I think. So be patient with me. When we reach our new destination it may take me a while to come out of my shell once more, to make friends and become less of a hobbit. And if after a year or so I start to pull away, please understand that is what I have grown used to doing. It is not you, it is me. So fight for me.. or I may just pull away and say goodbye without anyone being the wiser, holing up in my house with hobbies and other busy things because that is what I have done.
Well, that is it for me today Dear Readers. Until next time, Be Blessed!

Thoughts on a Pre-Summer Day

The load stones that overwhelm us at times can also be the featherweights that propel us to the next level in life. Hubby is off of work this week. So they tell us, that doesn't stop him from answering his phone, going into the office to straighten things out or any other number of things. I think that he works just as much on his leave time as he does when he isn't on leave. I need to start planning vacations instead of stay-cations.
The kids are playing loudly in the backyard as the sun shines down on their boisterous bobbing heads and thrilling laughter. Summer is that season that they wish will never end. When the fall comes all three will be packing book bags and bent-o boxes for school. I will be looking for paying work outside of the home and Hubby will continue to do as he has done before. I am so very proud of my man! Anakin our little puppy boy is as crazy as ever. I sometimes think he believes himself a cat.
Since we are in the south the familiar hum of the a/c unit accompanies the summer heat starting at times in the mid spring before school even lets out. There is still so much to do and the older I get the more I think I don't have enough time to do it all. I have said before and I will continue to say that if however you determine to do something you will always find the time for it! I have so many things I want to accomplish.. and I know that I will need surgery sometime in this calendar year on my wrists. I am right handed and my right hand has been acting up again. I plan on making an appointment with the hand doctor for next week, maybe another cortisone injection and then talk about surgery in the fall. I think it would be easier in the fall because my hands can be so full with the children in the summer time. Oh well, six weeks of not using your dominate hand doesn't sound fun anyway you put it.
Miniman has a bit of a speech impediment and started speech therapy during the school year last year. He is able to be a part of a speech program in the summer time as well and will start next week. Goosie is a vicarious reader. I don't seem to have enough books in the house to keep her occupied. Bubbles is still every where, every minute all the time. She is a joy, but always keeps me on my toes. We had started a container garden in the spring, I admit I have had too many up north and forgotten how to grow things in the south. Wow, that sentence makes me miss WA. The green never really goes away in the north west, and the heat never really shows up either.
Everyday I wake up feeling blessed and every night I go to bed feeling even more so. I have no words dear readers for all the wonderful things in my life, even the not so wonderful ones that cause me to appreciate more the ones I have. Until next time dear readers.. Be Blessed!

Adventures In Teaching Moments

I had to run some errands today. Miniman was not feeling well yesterday and has stayed home from school today. Bubbles who is used to our first week of the month routine was ready to get things going.I packed them up in the truck and started out. Water for everyone of course as it doesn't take long to get hot here in the south.  Our first stop was Walmart. I needed to pick up a few things and then off to pay the rent. When we finished getting the few things I needed we went to self check out. While I was putting money in the machine some change fell to the floor. I couldn't tell if it was from my wallet or from the machine so I let the cashier know what was going on and asked her to keep the change so that she drawer wouldn't come up short.  We then left to pay the rent. Upon returning to the truck after paying the rent, Bubbles was acting funny. I noticed she was clutching something under her dress at her chest. So I retrieved the item and was upset as she had taken a push pop from the store without my knowledge. I immediately became upset with her. I informed the kids that we were returning to Walmart so that Bubbles could return what she had taken and apologize. On the way there I lectured Bubbles on stealing. I reminded her that if you steal you go to jail. Kind people don't go to jail only unkind who do bad things, and I am not raising thieves and unkind children. To some this may sound harsh, but in all honesty I need her to realize the severity of her actions, feel contrition and make the right choice. The choice to be kind and to take responsibility for ones actions. Yes, I know she just turned four; however if we are to teach our children right from wrong we need to take advantage of the lessons we have the opportunity to give. I understand that some would not return to the store and just write off the small amount said push pop cost. I also understand that some would say that she doesn't understand what she is doing.
Well, I need her to understand. So we returned to Walmart, found the cashier that assisted me earlier and Bubbles had to give back the push pop and apologize for her actions. I am very proud of her for being contrite and apologizing. I am not happy with the Walmart employee. Upon Bubbles fulfilling her duties the employee looked at her and told Bubbles that "it's okay".
Here is where I take issue. If it were okay for Bubbles to steal I wouldn't have made her bring it back and apologize. If it were okay I wouldn't have make it a point to teach her a life lesson. It is not okay to take something that you didn't pay for and doesn't belong to you. If it were okay people could take whatever they wanted and not have any repercussions. This is not the case. If you steal you are breaking the law, it is not okay if you need to apologize for it. These are priceless lessons my children need to have in order for them to be good citizens, have integrity and be kind to others. Why aren't others teaching their children these things? Is it more humorous to teach your child sarcasm and allow them to do things that would make the previous generation of parents blush?? It's no wonder things have gotten out of control in the world today. Who teaches the children boundaries, responsibility, integrity, honor, and kindness? Not our public or private teachers.. no the one who teaches these things and other good qualities are the parents. No one else is responsible for that child unless they skirt their responsibility.
I want my children to be adults who are kind, have character, integrity and all the other good morals that make them good people to be around. If I want that I need to be their parent. Not just someone who helped create another person and then be irresponsible with their upbringing. When I leave this life for the next one I want to know I did everything I could to create a better world. Even if it is just by leaving my children behind knowing they are fully equipped to be all they can be and rise above others in questionable circumstances. In that instance alone, I will have done my duty as a parent.
If it really takes a village, shouldn't those in the village also be reinforcing the values children learn at home? The truth is that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it just takes dedicated parents who are willing to teach and train their children.

It's A Legacy

Let me introduce you to my Parents.. That happy couple in the middle of all those women. Yep, that is them.
I have been thinking about my parents a lot lately. About their relationship with each other and the ones they have with each member of the family they created. My parents have been together for 40+ years. Add to that Eight daughters, Eight Son-in-laws, 17+ grandchildren and countless friends across the globe. And you may just start to get a glimpse of the love they have for each other. Has their road been easy, no. But they took to heart the vows they spoke all those years ago, and they are thriving.. so are the rest of us.
When things got tough they didn't throw in the towel. They pulled together and stuck it out. I can't remember all the things I have put them through, not to mention my siblings. Mom and Dad are still here. They rejoice at the news of a new grandchild; are sorrowful when someone is gone astray; and are humble with gratitude when someone recognizes them.
There is a song I remember Mom singing. I can hear and see her in my memory. She is standing at the front of the little church they attended in SC. Her hair is up in a neat bun, a sister from the church is sitting at the piano and Mom is wearing one of her nice church dresses. The piano plays softly and I can hear the familiar voice that lulls me to sleep, courageously start to sing. Mom's singing is the best. No matter what song is chosen, she sings it with a caressing love that brings tears of joy to your eye. I am sure the angels them selves are a little green with her love songs to the Almighty. Her voice would start to shake with emotion and then a slight pause as she and the rest of the congregate were overwhelmed by a calming unseen force (you know the one I am talking about). Then Mom would pick up where she left off and finish the song.Though at times there were a few more pauses.
I found the words to the song and am trying to learn it. When I was growing up if I wanted to sing a special, I had to know the words. If I got a little lost I could look at Mom and there she was singing with me. I could find my place and keep going. Now as I practice a song I see as her's I can see her in my mind nudging me along, hear her voice in my ear and the words transform me.
I remember once criticizing Mom too harshly (as children often do), It brought tears to her eye and I knew then that I hurt her. And I remember a member of one of the little churches Dad would speak at once told me that I sing like my Mom. It was the best compliment ever. Then there was a time when I thought I could sing better than her. I am ashamed to admit it, but there it is. My Mom is still the best. With all the traveling Hubby and I have done I have come across more than a few singers who sang for themselves. I can honestly say Mom never did, nor does she. The sole reason Mom sings is a legacy of love. One that has taken me a life time to recognize. Mom's legacy is living the words in the songs. Each special Mom sings is a prayer for her and those around her. To live each day as a light to others.
Dad felt the call to go to India. Mom was ready as ever to follow beside him. They sold the house I grew up in, bought some land in NC and now reside in a small two bedroom trailer in the country. They are happy. Three months out of the year they travel, it's not always easy to get to the places they are called to go. But God keeps them safe. And when they come home, the family they created is relieved.  While they are gone we worry and pray. We talk about the problems we have and that if Mom were here, she could pray and the windows of heaven would open at the simple bowing of her humble beautiful head.
My parents showed me that when you love, truly love, it wont matter what house or state you live in. Nor will it matter the car you drive; clothes you wear or trials you may go through. When you choose to love someone for the rest of your life, God joins you together spiritually as well and you will be "one" for eternity. That is the legacy of my parents.. Love. They loved us enough to allow us to fall and learn to get up. They loved us enough to hold us tightly with an open hand and have been constant through it all. Their marriage survived eight female children, and they still act like teenagers in the quiet comfortable moments they find with each other.
And the song I found that I am trying to learn.. well there are two:
I could never out love the Lord
I know who holds Tomorrow

Until next time dear Readers.. Be Blessed!

Bubbles

Blonde hair trailing behind a smiling face.
Mismatched clothes numerous wardrobe changes.
Trip to the library, the smell of books and the sound of laughter
out into the misty rain to puddle hop with glee.
Snuggle up close on the couch
Her hair smells of shampoo and taffy.
Sticky hands, messy face..
My beautiful girl.

Small feet in boots a little too big
Button nose in the midst of a precocious face.
Timid " I'm sorry's"
Big blue eyes the size of saucers
Tears of remorse,
frown of determination
My beautiful girl.

You are the silliest of the silly's
little kitten meows coming from a favored toy
laughter peeling like small bells
little legs running to catch the puppy boy
Tea parties with water.. getting caught up in the fun
loosing sight of the mess
My beautiful girl

Looking for the tree's
missing the forest
you remind me
look at the little things
My beautiful girl.

Crafty Bug Strikes Again

The Crafty bug has caught up with me again. I think it started with a slide show I made for my sister S and her new Hubby for their wedding this past weekend. I wasn't able to attend because all three kids had the icky sickies and Hubby was on bed rest due to his back hurting so bad.. Dr's orders. So I missed a wonderful wedding. UGH!! Here is the side show..
I really enjoyed making it and hope that you all enjoy watching it. S and F are truly in love and made for each other. I have NEVER seen my sister so happy and F..I am certain he feels the same way. Right now they are off on their honeymoon. I wish them more then enough and so many blessings that they would be hard to count.

Now Hubby and  I did redo our living room. There are a few pieces that stayed the same, but some things have also changed. Where everything was done in browns and earth tones we have now incorporated teal and an aqua blue with a vibrant white. I must say I enjoy the way it brightens everything up, and yet it is still very soothing. As many of you know I had picked up a pieced top a few years ago, and have been working on patching it up ever since. Admittedly I was inspired when I saw it and now the inspiration is going a bit further. I am going to make a pieced top napping blanket. Instead of the squares I plan on using strips. All the fabric is in the washer now (pre-wash all your fabric before starting a project). I would like this one to also look like a duvet cover, so the buttons are already here and so is the backing. Now to find or make the crochet that will go across the top. I will post a picture when I can.

So that is basically what has been going on lately. I hope you all are doing well dear readers.. maybe this crafty bug will hang around for a while.. we shall have to see.

Happy Very Belated Birthday C

This is my sister C and her family. She and her hubby have two beautiful children. A is their oldest and by far one of the sweetest most gentle children I have the pleasure of knowing. G is their youngest, he is adorable and I must say a good baby fix when one is needed. Both of her children are bright little lights and wonderful to be around. C is two years older then me and has been through her share. After struggling with infertility for years she is now the proud Momma of two blessings. One of which has severe allergies.

C struggles to find recipes and foods that she can make for G and the rest of them to enjoy. Three of his allergies are milk, eggs and peanut butter. I was able to find a website here in hopes that it will help. The world of food allergies is becoming quite large. I have met people with Chron's Disease (an allergy to gluten), lactose intolerance, shell fish allergies and so much more. It is hard to feed a family with cheap food as so much of it is processed with many allergens. I have heard of some parents who don't understand how severe allergies can be complain that when they bring snack to a preschool or otherwise that it makes things hard on them. How much harder is it for the parent of the little one with severe allergies? Really, if you have to make a jam and cream cheese sandwich because one of the kids in your playgroup has an allergy to peanuts.. don't be spiteful about it. How would you feel if that was your child and even the simple act of peanut butter touching his skin will cause him to go into shock and possibly die. There goes eating out with the family at most restaurants and countless other things that others take for granted.

C is amazing. When she heard of G's allergies she automatically started looking at every label on everything, looking up different things on the web to make for her family and I am certain prays that this too shall pass. C is one of a kind. She is strong, intelligent, hard working, soft spoken, when she speaks it is well thought and kind. C is a person if inward and outward beauty. It is an honor to have her as my sister and a privilege to have her as a friend. She is mindful of others and if ever guilty of anything it would be putting herself last. Happy Belated Birthday C.. I pray that this year will be full of blessings and the wonders that  take your breath away. You are strong and an inspiration to those who know you and a blessing to those who call you not only friend, but family.

To My Sister I..on Her Birthday

This is a picture of my sister I and her family.

I is a little older then me..and growing up we weren't really all that close. She had her things to do and i had mine. One of my favorite memories of I is on her wedding day. I had met her Hubby D through church and had a wonderful relationship before they got married. i can remember thinking when I got married that she was soo beautiful that day and she had found the kind of Hubby that i should take note of. I and D have had there difficulties.. but they have also had their share of joy. i moved away just after their son was born.. so i sadly don't know their children as much as i would like to. But they were the first (other then parents) to visit soon after we moved to the east coast.
While i don't remember a lot about our relationship before just recently. I and i have cultivated a meaningful relationship. i do remember when i was younger and going through a rough time, I gave me a piece of advice that to this day sticks with me. While i don't remember her exact words, the jest of it was that there is nothing that i could ever do that would tear me away from my relationship with God. I has (from what i see) a strong relationship with God. Her strength has been an encouragement to me. And on my wedding day i was more then pleased to discover how well her D and my Hubby got along.
I, today is your birthday and i wish you enough. Enough of all the things that make you laugh, and all the things that drive you to comfort either yourself or others. You are a wonderful woman, i am blessed to have you as my sister and thankful that we have become friends. You are a woman of strength and i admire and respect you for that and so much more. i love you, Happy Birthday!!

Update.. and Other Things

So I haven't been on this blog much because I started a new one and it has been a bit of a pet project of mine  you can find it here.

Jon finally received his orders. We will be moving hopefully around the first of August. I would really like to get the kids situated before the school year starts. So I am looking for a house.. the different neighborhoods and so much more. Mom and Dad were up visiting. We really enjoyed the visit, wish it could have lasted longer. I can hardly wait until we are closer.. we will be able to see so much more of the family. I want to hurry up and be there already. But, there is still much to do here and there is no telling when we will actually be down there. Hubby put in for 60 days of leave. If that doesn't pan out, then he is taking two weeks off, moving the kids and I down there and get us adjusted. Then coming back here for at least 45 days. UGH!!! I don't want to think of life without him for that long. Especially in a new place. But other's have done it before me, and there will be more who will need to do it after me.

The search for a home is not easy. The housing market we are moving into is quite fierce. We are looking into several options.. but we really need to find something in our budget. It would be nice if we are able to find a place and it fit what we need it too.. if it could be less then what we can afford for rent that would be super. So I will keep praying.. please do the same. I know that there is a home down there that is suited for us and our budget. We just have to step out and claim it. God knew where we were going before we did, and I trust that he has everything prepared for us. Jesus promised his disciple's that he would go before them and prepare a place. Who am I to doubt that he won't to the same for his children. Just reminding myself of that, gives me a peace. So now it is time to walk in it.

The kids are growing so fast! Bubbles is finally almost done with potty training. Miniman has become quite the addict of video games, and Goosie.. well she just gets better and better everyday. There are still somethings that we all need to work on. But over all things are going well. When we get to our new place I really hope that we can get the kids in-rolled in karate. Hubby and I want to take dance lessons together. So many things to look forward to.. it is no wonder I want to be there already. I will miss the house on the hill and all of the friends we have made here. It is always bitter-sweet when we relocate. I will write more later.. Be blessed!

MiniMan.. Happy 5th Birthday

I can hardly believe it has been 5 years since we welcomed our little MiniMan into our family.  He was 7lbs 5.3 oz and the most beautiful boy I had ever seen. I was only in the pushing part of labor for 21 minutes.. and when he finally arrived, I yelled at the Dr., lol! You see the cord was wrapped around his little neck once and he was blue. The Dr. told me to stop pushing but at that point, I wasn't pushing. Fully developed at 38 weeks. Yes, I was induced.
In the past 5 years MiniMan has kept us on our toes. From climbing on things, trifling through anything that he wasn't supposed to. He would pull things off of shelves. MiniMan has always been a very determined little guy. He is also dedicated, if he is frustrated with something he will work on it until he gets it right. If it's a video game it's a different story. MiniMan enjoy's watching NASCAR with Hubby and just recently found the joys (and my pain) of LEGO's. Star Wars is a new found favorite. If he isn't playing the game he is building a space ship out of said LEGO's. I recently started getting the movie saga through Netflix and he is glued to the screen. I can tell that he and Papa will have fun when Papa comes to visit later this month.
Miniman is a great little guy. He is bright and friendly. The only qualm he has is with dogs. My friend A has a little weenie dog. It is the only one that Miniman has warmed up to at all.
Happy Birthday MiniMan!! You are a wonderful little guy and I can wait for you to turn into a man.. just slow down and be my guy for as long as you can, I love you!

Moving..

If I have learned anything in my short life this far it is that nothing stays the same. My big little family moved here to the state of Ohio in the fall of 2007; and now we are leaving. It is definite. Hubby received his orders and has a report date in September. We know what Battalion we are headed to but for now that is about it. Hubby and I are both excited.. I think for two different reasons. Hubby because we are headed where it goes from Spring to Summer and then back to Spring. Me because we are going to be closer to my Big family. I did jokingly ask Hubby if we were going to have another baby in the new state.. he just laughed it off. It has been the trend. Goosie was born in Washington, Miniman in Idaho and Bubbles here in Ohio ( I know my sister's are probably thinking I am completely off my rocker!). If anything we are going to get a puppy. We haven't told the kids yet. The puppy depends on a lot of things. The biggest is where we get stationed. If it is with in 30 of base then we are going to live on base (a first)! We found out on Monday of this week and I am already making lists and checking them twice. Things to go through, to donate and other things that just need to be tossed.  I know that we have way too much stuff, so it is time to down size. If we are able to live on base the house will be less then 2000 sq ft.; so things need to go. I don't want to move clutter with us!
So far I have a time frame (for the summer):
~ End of May - find out station
~ June- clean/sort/donate and pre-pack
~2nd week in July- Movers come and pack the house
~3rd week in July- Clean house and pack things we will need for the move
~ Last week in July- Head out to S.C. and spend the week with the Big family
~First and second week of August- Find house, get housing goods delivered/ move in, register kids for school
~ Prepare for the school year

The list is short, but it does entail a good bit. I have already started on a few things. There are many more things to do. My parents are coming to visit at the end of June and I would like the house to be pleasantly livable when they are here.  Then my friend S is getting married the 3rd week of July and I want to make sure everything is as squared away for her as I can. S is also moving in the same time frame we are. So much to do. I thought I might have a little time with Hubby's report date in September, but the truth is that if we want the kids to start school in the ones they will be in for the rest of the year, we need to stick to the time line. As you can imagine I won't be on as much. Excitement defiantly motivates! I plan on throwing a farewell party for the kids and all their friends. It will be nice to have one last hurrah before we go. Hubby and I hope to see our friends there too. Until next time dear readers, Be Blessed!

Happy Mother's Day ( A post in pictures)

In honor of Mother's Day I thought it would be nice to recognize both my Mom and my Sisters.
This is a picture of my parents and all of their children. Yes, we are all biological. No we are neither Mormon or Catholic. My parent's just love each other very much ( sorry I made you blush Mom, I love you). In the center are my parents to the left and going out are all the odd numbers (S,I, G, and me) to right and going out are all the even (L,N,C and V). My Mom is a wonderful woman. I once said and will say it again that in the Christian community many women want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. I can honestly say I have a Proverbs 31 woman as a Mom. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. I love you!

This is my sister S and her family. They are S, her fiancee F; and S's two children G and S. S became a mom at a young age and in watching her I learned a lot about what a Mom can be. Thank you S for your example and encouragement. Both of your children are well rounded and strong individuals. Who they have become now and will become later is a tribute to who you are.. I love you!

This is my sister L and her family. L's husband T and their shared children P, M and K. L also became a mother at a young age. Her oldest is not pictured here..M. He is forever in our hearts. I have also seen L go through her share of hurdles. L taught me an invaluable lesson. You need to to find your happiness, and those who love you will be happy for you. Thank you for that.. and so very much more. I love you!

This is my sister I and her family. I's husband D and their two children E and D. I has been an encouragement to me. She has never stopped learning and is always interested in digging deeper and finding out more. I has a wealth of knowledge and is crafty indeed. I have enjoyed her artwork and culinary skills more then once and am challenged by her to do and be more. Thank you I.. I love you!

This is my sister N and her family. N's husband E and their long awaited blessing R. There is much I can say about N.. her heart is warm and open, she is full of encouragement and laughter. Even when E is deployed she is uplifting to be around. I am beyond blessed to have N as my sister and so thankful to call her my friend. I love you!

This is G and her family. Her husband D and their two children A and K. G has always been a go getter. She doesn't stop even if the cards are stacked against her she will look at that stack and tell it to move! G is full of moxie and spunk. She has a zest for life and is passing it down to her children. I know that they don't realize yet what a treasure they have for a Mom. I love you sis!

This is C and her family. Her husband R and their two children A and G. C is one of a kind. With grace and even temperament she goes about her day (now as a stay at home mom) and does the best she can with what she has been given. C you are a blessing to say the least and I am ever so thankful to have you as my sister! I love you!

This is my little big family. Myself, Hubby, Goosie, Miniman and Bubbles. Every morning I wake up and start the day with my family. There are times I admit I take them for granted, there are times i know I can do more. But at the end of the day when prayers are being said, blessings are given and the three little ones are all tucked into bed.. I know they know how much Hubby and I love them. To have them all here is such a gift! (Now if we could only live
closer to the rest of the family!)

This is V and her little man I. V has had her ups and downs, she has had much taken from her.. and yet she is still willing to step out and give it one more try. V has been with her boyfriend B for a few years now and I have never seen her happier. V is also one of the strongest people I know. She may not get much recognition this year due to some extenuating circumstances... but V is an outstanding Mom. She is forever putting I's needs and desires above her own. V inspires me to be more of the Mom my kids need me to be and not the one everyone tells me I should be. Thank you V.. for all the things spoken and all the things you just happen to know. I never have to say a word sometimes.. but you always know what to say. I love you my Best-Sister-Friend!
