I have been thoughtful lately. Hubby says in times like these I have my own theories.. I want to share one with you.
Children are wonderful terrible things. They are wonderful because they are so full of hope and promise it is almost hard not to fall in love with your own. They are terrible because of the hope and promise they hold. It is a rock and a hard place when you have them. A joy and a sorrow. Mine are still very young, I am thinking of Sports. He is day's away from his 18th birthday, itching to join the ARMY and as ready as he can be for the life he has chosen for himself. There are many that would say that your children will live up to whatever standards you try to give them. I disagree, your children will live up to the standards you have for yourself. If you are a parent who chooses not to be in their lives, don't expect for them to want you in them. Sports has a wonderful MOM!! I am using all caps because I believe her to be a wonderful woman and mother. L taught Sports the joys of hard work. There is joy to be found in working hard. L also taught him dedication, respect, understanding, sympathy, and how to decide for himself. In my Big family as you can imagine there are many differing opinions. Sports was told of the many different things each branch has to offer and made his decision to join the ARMY. I can honestly say that if he changes his mind, Hubby and I will still support him no matter what. This is his decision and I am glad he is making it for himself. Sports in my eyes is no longer a boy, he is a man. He is making decisions that will effect him for the rest of his life. While he is here in my home I will try to help equip him with what ever he needs. If there are questions I will assist in finding the answer, but for Sports he needs to find where he fits for himself. I am proud of Sports. There were many paths he could have chosen, there are even more different directions his life could still take him. But he is old enough to decide for himself. Those of us in the Big family can still assist and influence him. But Sports is a man and it is up to him to find his way. So Sports on your 18th birthday this Monday.. I pray that God's guidance will never leave you and that you know his grace is sufficient for all your needs.
On another note I received a call from Hubby this morning. Things have almost been written in stone. He told me tonight that it is 99.999% positive that we are moving. Hubby will be making all the necessary calls and visits to close any business we have in the area. I am already starting to plan a joint birthday party for the kids so that they can say goodbye to their friends. Thankfully where we are going is not far from where we are, but far enough the the movers trucks will be circling and my house will once again be put in order of boxes labeled with their contents. We will be searching for a new home, there are new friends to be made and a home church to find. School records, and Dr's records to be filed away. This is a first for me. I know that we have moved almost every year in the past seven. Only once before did we move and I was not pregnant. Goosie was 6 months old and that as you can imagine has been four and a half years. I didn't have children old enough to be in school and now although the process at first glance looks daunting. I have a peace and I rest in the confidence that all is taken care of. We haven't told the kids yet. I am sure Goosie will be sad and Miniman will share in her grief. The tentitive date is ambiguous, and the time frame is April or May. So much needs to happen in a few short months. There are still many boxes that need to be gone through and others that need to be given away.
To turn again to my babies, Miniman got himself dressed by himself today and Goosie has been choosing her own clothes more and more. She has a bit of my flare for not quite matching things, but some how in the chaos the outfit is pulled together and works. Some days she looks like a pixie who just grabbed whatever was closest even if it wasn't in the wardrobe. Bubbles is a joy. She lives up to her nickname! She has such a tender loving heart even at her age, she still sympathizes with those around her and when she is happy the house on the hill is at peace. Sports is quite taken with her and I fear the loss they will both feel when he leaves my house to make his own way. Hubby is getting ready for the next big step in the process to live pain free. There is a stimulator that will be surgically placed in his back and attached to his spinal column, that will hopefully allow him to live his life to its fullest again. I have mulled things over for quite sometime, and continue to ask for your prayers as the journey ahead of us becomes more clear. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We may not make it south for the summer, but will see those of you in the Big family as soon as we can. We will be making a trip for Hubby's birthday to see his family and are looking forward to the north and all the wonderment it holds. I know the kids are wishing for snow!
Until I type again dear readers, may peace be with you always and no matter where you may roam may you find peace in the places you call your home.

Since Thanksgiving.. lets just say alot has happened!
Alas my dear readers I must apologize. I have been very busy as of late and have neglected my blog. We went south for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time despite the fact Hubby and I were sick on Thanksgiving day, along with the day after and were not able to enjoy much of the wonderful food that was prepared. We were able to stay at my sister I's house. It was wonderful to be able to spend more time with her and her family. It is good to get to know my sisters as adults rather then just sisters. We welcomed the good news that Hubby and I will once again be Aunt and Uncle. Congratulations again C, I am so excited for you and R!!Babies are such a blessing and in my Big family it seems the more the merrier!
When we left our house on the hill we had three children. When we returned we had four. My nephew P ( now referred to as Sports as he enjoys anything sporty) is staying with us for a while as he is interested in joining the ARMY and would like Hubby to put him in. There are a few courses he needs to finish before graduating from High School and we are all hoping to get that taken care of as quickly as possible. Sports will be turning 18 this month and I can hardly believe it! It seems like only yesterday he was Miniman's age! So much to do and now it seems time is running even faster. Sports, I think, is also gaining a new respect for his mom. There are many things parents do for their children that until the child becomes a parent they at times have no clue about. I must admit that Sports is getting worn out by the children, and I am ashamed to admit that I have allowed things to slack. However I am changing that as I type and am going to be asserting myself much more then I used to with all the children in the house. Hubby I think enjoys Sports company as there is now someone in the house who shares his sense of humor and is old enough to carry a conversation with.
This year was only the fourth time Sports had seen snow. It was just a light dusting yesterday ( it is melted away now), and while he and Bubbles enjoyed it all I could think about was the sniffles that sometimes accompany colder weather. Bubbles of course has both Hubby and Sports wrapped around her little fingers. Goosie realized what was happening and is clamoring to get spacial attention of her own. The cute baby phase has defiantly worn off of Sports when it comes to Bubbles. But I can tell he would still let her get away with just about anything. My big little family is planning a trip north for Christmas. Sports is excited at the prospect of seeing and enjoying more snow. I am thinking of family and hoping that Dad B will have room for us all.
Not much else is happening. There is a good amount of baking, candy making, sewing and other crafty things happening around the house. There is now an official guys game night that meets here every Friday night. All the women folk meet over at my friend-sister N's house. It is a good thing. I am still slowly collecting all things needed to keep the house organized. It is not an easy task, especially since I look a lot more organized then what I actually am. So many things happening and it is almost no wonder why I lost track of time and have neglected my key board.
Well, enough for now dear readers. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are gearing up for Christmas. Until next time be a blessing to those around you and in turn you will be blessed!
