So much has happened since last I wrote. The house once again looks like it does 11 months out of the year. The kids are in school for most of the day and I am on routine. Going to the Y two days a week, meal planning, house cleaning and knitting. I enjoy knitting. It feels good to make something both useful and beautiful. I want to make Easter dresses for the girls again.. maybe with little matching cardigan's. I will have to make them one size bigger so that they can wear them throughout the rest of the year though. Those kids.. they just keep growing. I am thinking of making a sweater vest for Miniman since a dress wouldn't be appropriate.
Hubby is getting into the swing of things at work. Things have been going well since he detoxed from the medication a year and a half ago. The problem with long term medication use is that is screws up the way your body functions. His body doesn't know how to make certain hormones anymore, so once again he is on medication to help his body regulate itself. It has been a while since our last ER trip, for that I am thankful. Both for him and for the kids. He is a little less than two years away from retirement. He has a plan for work after the Army.. and I have plans for work once Bubbles starts school.
I am learning how to budget things better. I am still meal planning. I have added coupon clipping to that and weekly am looking at the sales ads to see what we will have for dinner in the coming week. Am I a coupon queen.. no, not by any means. I am just trying to do what I can with what I am given and stretch it out as much as possible.
Hubby and I started a class at our local church, it's called Sacred Marriage. The challenge for this week was to answer these three questions: 1. How did God bring the two of you together? 2. What was impossible that has happened? 3. How is God still working on you?. Well, I didn't need a week.. I had examples of all three. Hubby and I shared the answers with the class. Afterwards I couldn't help but wonder a little what others thought of Hubby and I and our situation. I hope that we would be an encouragement to those around us.
Bubbles is getting better at being a big girl. I think I finally found her coinage.. pinky promises! I had her pinky promise me that she would be a big girl, stay clean and dry.. so far so good. Anakin has adjusted well to the family. I almost think he believes the kids are his litter mates! He doesn't like baths and loves to chew on just about anything. He even ripped a hole in my sock the other day. Oh that puppy boy! Goosie is doing well in school. She brought home her report card yesterday.. and didn't want me to open it. I reminded her that as long as she was doing her best and trying her hardest that I would never be disappointed in what she did. I don't know what she was so concerned about.. she made the B honor roll! Miniman is doing quite well in school also. I get a note from his teacher at least once a week telling me what a joy he is to have in the class room. Of course I was bragging to Hubby over dinner about how wonderful and bright our children are and they were blushing!
I said goodbye to a devoted friend this week. My camera. Hubby bought it for me when I was pregnant with Miniman. It survived 6 years of life with my big little family. It went from being toted around in a diaper bag, to a carry all then my purse, to having it's own case because it was dented on a corner; the shutter is gone and the button would fall off at random. The final straw was when I had it in my purse and a water bottle dumped out. My camera has been sitting in a bag of rice for almost a week and I don't think it will come out okay. There was a lot of water in the bottle! I have had to resort to using my camera phone.. I don't like it as much. I like my point and click.. oh well, maybe I will get a new one for my birthday. Hubby's chair has also seen better days. After 6 years in our living room it has seen much living and I am not sure a steam cleaner can make it better. I will try one more time to clean it, but I am more then a little tempted to get him a new recliner.
I know I have probably left some things out.. life happens so fast and it is hard to take it all in and make sense of it sometimes. One thing remains. I love my big little family. That will never change. I am not sure where I would be without them, but I am sure I would not be where I am today. Until next time dear readers.. be blessed!
