To My Sister I..on Her Birthday

This is a picture of my sister I and her family.

I is a little older then me..and growing up we weren't really all that close. She had her things to do and i had mine. One of my favorite memories of I is on her wedding day. I had met her Hubby D through church and had a wonderful relationship before they got married. i can remember thinking when I got married that she was soo beautiful that day and she had found the kind of Hubby that i should take note of. I and D have had there difficulties.. but they have also had their share of joy. i moved away just after their son was born.. so i sadly don't know their children as much as i would like to. But they were the first (other then parents) to visit soon after we moved to the east coast.
While i don't remember a lot about our relationship before just recently. I and i have cultivated a meaningful relationship. i do remember when i was younger and going through a rough time, I gave me a piece of advice that to this day sticks with me. While i don't remember her exact words, the jest of it was that there is nothing that i could ever do that would tear me away from my relationship with God. I has (from what i see) a strong relationship with God. Her strength has been an encouragement to me. And on my wedding day i was more then pleased to discover how well her D and my Hubby got along.
I, today is your birthday and i wish you enough. Enough of all the things that make you laugh, and all the things that drive you to comfort either yourself or others. You are a wonderful woman, i am blessed to have you as my sister and thankful that we have become friends. You are a woman of strength and i admire and respect you for that and so much more. i love you, Happy Birthday!!

Update.. and Other Things

So I haven't been on this blog much because I started a new one and it has been a bit of a pet project of mine  you can find it here.

Jon finally received his orders. We will be moving hopefully around the first of August. I would really like to get the kids situated before the school year starts. So I am looking for a house.. the different neighborhoods and so much more. Mom and Dad were up visiting. We really enjoyed the visit, wish it could have lasted longer. I can hardly wait until we are closer.. we will be able to see so much more of the family. I want to hurry up and be there already. But, there is still much to do here and there is no telling when we will actually be down there. Hubby put in for 60 days of leave. If that doesn't pan out, then he is taking two weeks off, moving the kids and I down there and get us adjusted. Then coming back here for at least 45 days. UGH!!! I don't want to think of life without him for that long. Especially in a new place. But other's have done it before me, and there will be more who will need to do it after me.

The search for a home is not easy. The housing market we are moving into is quite fierce. We are looking into several options.. but we really need to find something in our budget. It would be nice if we are able to find a place and it fit what we need it too.. if it could be less then what we can afford for rent that would be super. So I will keep praying.. please do the same. I know that there is a home down there that is suited for us and our budget. We just have to step out and claim it. God knew where we were going before we did, and I trust that he has everything prepared for us. Jesus promised his disciple's that he would go before them and prepare a place. Who am I to doubt that he won't to the same for his children. Just reminding myself of that, gives me a peace. So now it is time to walk in it.

The kids are growing so fast! Bubbles is finally almost done with potty training. Miniman has become quite the addict of video games, and Goosie.. well she just gets better and better everyday. There are still somethings that we all need to work on. But over all things are going well. When we get to our new place I really hope that we can get the kids in-rolled in karate. Hubby and I want to take dance lessons together. So many things to look forward to.. it is no wonder I want to be there already. I will miss the house on the hill and all of the friends we have made here. It is always bitter-sweet when we relocate. I will write more later.. Be blessed!

I couldn't pass this up..

A recent title in Yahoo! caught my eye and I admit.. I gave in. Here is the full article if you are interested. I copied the email that has created so much controversy... and I must admit.. I agree with the Mother-in-law.

subject: your lack of manners

Here are a few examples of your lack of manners:

When you are a guest in another's house, you do not declare what you will and will not eat - unless you are positively allergic to something.

You do not remark that you do not have enough food.

You do not start before everyone else.

You do not take additional helpings without being invited to by your host.

When a guest in another's house, you do not lie in bed until late morning in households that rise early - you fall in line with house norms.

You should never ever insult the family you are about to join at any time and most definitely not in public. I gather you passed this off as a joke but the reaction in the pub was one of shock, not laughter.

You regularly draw attention to yourself. Perhaps you should ask yourself why. No one gets married in a castle unless they own it. It is brash, celebrity style behaviour.

I understand your parents are unable to contribute very much towards the cost of your wedding. (There is nothing wrong with that except that convention is such that one might presume they would have saved over the years for their daughters' marriages.)

If this is the case, it would be most ladylike and gracious to lower your sights and have a modest wedding as befits both your incomes.

One could be accused of thinking that Heidi Withers must be patting herself on the back for having caught a most eligible young man. I pity Freddie.

Okay, really! This young lady (if that is what you can call her) not only acted in such a horrid way when meeting/staying at her soon to be in-laws home.. she then posted the well meaning (although a bit harsh) advice to the web. Fully showing her soon to be family and the world that she is both childish and un-lady-like. Maybe I was raised a little old fashioned. But when I shared the email with Hubby.. he agreed with me. The mother-in-law is right. I pity the fiancee and severely question this girls parents as to whether or not they raised their daughter better.

My Mom thankfully taught me that you need to eat everything on your plate when a guest at someones home (unless you are allergic to it). Be on your best behavior and considerate to your host in every way. Never make unkind jokes or remarks towards anyone. Regardless if they are family or not. You teach others how to treat yourself and your family by the way they see you treat them. Don't get me started on the rest.. but if this girl were to ever enter my house.. or someone like her (I pray Miniman will know better) I will feel an obligation to put her in her place if she will become part of my family. If in doing that I am labeled the Monster-in-law.. I guess I will be.
