Prayer It's A Good Thing

This past Sunday Hubby and I had the pleasure of Goosie sitting with us during church service. Usually we arrive at church, drop the kids off to their respective classes and enjoy sitting beside each other during the service. It is quite a blessing, to be able to just sit and soak in church, to think about all the blessings that have occurred over the past week.
At the church we attend, we partake in communion every Sunday. If you are interested you can view their website( http://www.northsideweb.org/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=FaithHighway/10000/8000/196NO/home ).It is not a monthly thing, it is a weekly thing. And each week I feel renewed, refreshed and ready to start my week. With Goosie joining us for the service, she saw for the first time communion. She asked what was happening and Hubby explained.

"You see Goosie" he says " before Jesus went to be with his daddy he sat down with his friends, and he gave them bread, and told them when they ate it to remember him, then he gave them juice and told them when they drank the juice to remember him then too."
"Why do you and Mommy eat the bread and drink the juice Daddy?" Goosie asks
"Because we are Jesus' friends and want to remember him" Was Hubby's reply.
"When can I remember Jesus like that Daddy?" Asked Goosie
"When you are older, honey"Hubby told her.
This satisfied Goosie, and she sat quietly while Hubby and reflected, prayed and prepared our hearts for communion.

When Hubby was explaining things to Goosie I felt my love for him grow, all the more. Hubby is such a wonderful Father. Even though he has not been around the Christian scene very long, he has such a deep grasp of things. There are so many things that could be complicated, that for him comes so easily. I remember when he first asked the Lord into his heart. He had so many questions. I knew that I could do one of two things at that point. I could either give him all the answers or help him find them for himself. There were many times he asked questions and I had no clue where to help him look. But I prayed for him, and together we found the answers.

Just recently I realized that my prayer life was not what it should be. So I decided to change that. I now pray for Hubby, each of my children, all of my family members and most of my friends. With my friends it is either who has been on my heart recently or who I have conversed with that day. But I try, and I am already seeing so results of those prayers.

I had begun praying for Hubby and his job, all the things that he distressed to me about and all the things that he deals with during the day. I started claiming that he would have abundant life in his job, that he would be realized for the valuable person that he is and that his superiors would begin utilizing him to his full potential. I know how much Hubby loves the ARMY. I also know how hard it is to be a recruiter. So I pray. Already his First Sargent has talked to him twice about moving him into a new position in either the company or the battalion. I know that my prayers are being heard and I will continue to pray until they are answered. God does promise that if he starts a good work he is faithful to complete it.

When Hubby and I first met 7 years ago this week, I can honestly say that I had no idea we would be where we are now. I would have surely laughed if some one told me! But God is faithful and he will never walk away. When I met Hubby I was running, sure I went to church on Sunday, but it was out of habit more then anything. My heart wasn't into it. I was happy then just going through the motions. When I met Hubby he was the furthest thing from a christian man, I could find. Shortly after we moved in together I wanted to start going to church. I don't blame anyone at the first few churches we went to for thinking we were already married. We were after all living like we were. We were married in February, in September of that year we were visiting my family in SC and Hubby asked God to be his lord and savior. I rededicated my life and shortly after our return to Washington state, Hubby was baptized. Since then we have learned a lot together and there are somethings we are still learning. Many times I have heard Hubby say that if it weren't for me praying he would never have accepted Christ. I don't take any credit and refer to my family. I know that even when I was out doing worldly things my Mom and Dad were praying for me. The only prayer that I can claim are the ones I started when I was 13. My sister N had just gotten married, and I remember her new mother in law saying that she had been praying for my sister, since the day her son was born. I thought it was a wonderful sentiment and wanted to pray for my future husband. And so I did. I of course did not realize that in the same month I started praying for Hubby was the same month he joined the ARMY(Yes, I am crying now). I truly believe that it was my prayers that helped get him through his deployments, the divorce he went through and all of the wanderings he went on before meeting me.

Yes, I started praying for Hubby when I was 13, I was 22 when I met him and we had our first child when I was 24, my son was born two short years later and my second daughter 2 years after that. And in case you are wondering, yes I started praying for their spouses the day I found out I was pregnant. Prayer, it's a good thing..

If Quiet Waters Run Deep, Aren't Still Water's Stagnant??

Hubby and I have been together for 7 years, and we are still learning allot about each other. When it comes to parenting styles we are vastly different. The only similarity is that we love the kids and support each other. That in it's self is I think a little more then the average. I have been thinking allot about the bubble I like to live in. I admit that living away from the High School friends, moving around every few years, and in general just trying to keep some sense of normalcy for my big little family is enough. I don't like watching the news because rarely there is anything positive on it. I still sometimes try to make connections with some of the recruiters spouses but this almost always lands flat. I still try though.
I thought that my days as a people pleaser were over, but I guess once a people pleaser always a people pleaser. I still care too much about what people think. I still have this desire to be accepted and at times that can get anyone into trouble. I realized that instead of trying to feel accepted by those around me, I should just accept the acceptance of my heavenly father. So I am trying.. it takes time to change a habit, but habits can be changed.
I was thinking earlier today that a popular saying is that "quiet waters run deep" I was thinking that it should be added to so instead of saying just " quiet waters run deep" you should also say: "quiet waters run deep, but still water is stagnant". After all if nothing ever ripples in your life, are you ever going to change?
One of the individuals at the training last weekend was quite cynical. They had a quick come back for almost everything and was generally aloof. I was able to talk with them for a bit and saw a glimpse of a person who was hiding behind all the cynicalness. They then told me that I was a genuine person and meeting me had given them hope that there were other people out there like me. Who were real.
How sad is it that most people are looking for someone to be real with and there are so many out there who are only interested in putting on a show, or playing a game? Let's face it we only live once, so why not be real? Maybe because it costs too much?
There was something else that bothers me that came to light over the weekend. I know that to the community Hubby and I live in we are examples of the military. He is an example of a military guy and I am an example of the military wife. I am not stupid enough to think that how I act/ react in public doesn't matter. It does matter. If I act in a way that makes me look bad, how am I making all the military spouses who came before me and will come after me look? I mean come on if you have issues, at least put them aside while you are not at home in the safety of your own four walls. But that is all I am willing to say about that. Just that if you are a military spouse you should have some respect for yourself, the situation you are in, and most of all for your military member. Just like Hubby is the ARMY I am the ARMY SPOUSE.
Not really much else. I also took account of all the things I was involved in. I volunteered in MOPS, the Family Support Group, and was taking an online college course, running the house, keeping track of all the finances and caring for my three little ones. I decided to step down from a few things and now have more free time to really be good at the things I am still involved with.
I don't want to over schedule my kids, but had no problem over scheduling myself..no longer. If I want something for my kids I need to live that example. We all know that telling them to do as you say not as you do, doesn't work.
Enough for now dear readers. Bubbles is trying to take out an earring.. lets just say it isn't working for me. Be blessed!

Old Friends Made New

When I was younger my Mom took me to the toy store. It was a rare thing, but I remember it as clearly as I can. My younger sister V picked out Mandy and I picked out Mikey. What he looked like all those years ago you can see to the left. I played with Mikey for hours. Of course Mikey and Mandy were not as popular as My Buddy and Kid Sister. But Mikey was my favorite for the longest time. I still have him. But now Miniman plays with him. It happened yesterday. Goosie and Bubbles both have babies (they are girls after all). Miniman had one of Goosie's babies and tried to claim it as his. Goosie of course wanted nothing to do with sharing her babies with her brother. Miniman does have a boy Cabbage Patch doll, but he has never really showed an interest in it. I remembered Mikey. A few months ago I bought a new Mikey and just put him away. Miniman after meeting his new little friend, was playing with him. Miniman would set up his cars and Mikey would " make them crash". Needless to say Miniman has a new friend.
Now there are two Mikey's and Miniman takes care of both of them. All three of them play together. It is a wonderful thing. And nice to know that something that I played with when I was younger, is bringing so much joy to my son. I wasn't sure if there was anything from my youth other then books that he would be interested in.
Here are the twin boys. Miniman and Goosie took their jackets off, sometimes I have to look for their shoes and my Mom is going to help me make pj's for them, Miniman likes to make them go down for a nap too! He is so sweet! I hope that this wonderful little guy that my Miniman is now will not change much as he gets older. Well, enough for this morning. I have some things to get done.

I wrote it at the Airport...last night

I was able to go to a conference this past weekend. I knew that I would be learning more about my position as a volunteer and did not realize that I would also learn so much about myself. There were good points and bad, but over all it was good. I was able to have some time to myself (which is a rarity) and slept in a bed much too big for only one person ( I share a king size with 4 other bodies at home so one to myself was an adjustment).
I was able to go to the Mall of America. That in it’s self was exciting and I am thankful that I was able to go (now to convince Hubby to go there for a vacation). I was able to see Sponge Bob’s house, a chapel in a mall, an aquarium you could dine in, and so very much more. I was also able to make connections with other people and help answer questions about a new program that was recently released. It was a wonderful weekend, but I am hesitant to do it again. Mostly because I MISS my family.
I am proud of myself. I was able to get through it and now am once again sitting at the airport waiting for a flight, but this time I get to go home.
The flights have been delayed more then they have been bad, lets face it a bad flight is one that doesn’t make it to the final destination right? I did not take a camera with me, something that I will make sure I do next time. So I will have to wait until a new connection is able to post some and then I will share.
My battery is almost out and I am about to board my plane, so in honor of Walter Cronkite….
And that’s the way it is. Until next time dear readers.. be blessed!

Bittersweet Thoughts

Hubby and I went out on a date last night. It was our first one since April! It felt so good to get out and it just be the two of us. I stayed up late playing a new computer game. It was a good night. Still I can't help but feel pain when Bubbles wants me to nurse her to sleep. She cries and throws a fit until Hubby is able to take her away, up the stairs and to bed. She doesn't throw a fit with him.
My body is experiencing something new this year. Other then the surgery. Bubbles is 15 months old. When Goosie and Miniman were 15 months old I was already two months pregnant with the next baby. But Hubby and I have decided that Bubbles is our last. So now my body is experiencing what it hasn't since 2003. So that is about 6 years, when you think about it, it can either be a long time or just a blink of an eye.
I remember being pregnant the first time. It was so new and exciting! My heart still swells with emotion when I think about it. Then when we found out that our second was a boy. That brings tears to my eyes. And finally, when we discovered that we were once again expecting a girl... I always wanted Goosie to have a sister. Now she does! Of course Miniman will have to wait until his sisters get married to have a brother!
I am now once again my own person. There is no one that depends on my body for their nourishment, this thought is both overwhelmingly good feeling and overwhelmingly sad. To say the least it is bitter sweet. I enjoyed my 6 years of pregnancy and breastfeeding. I will miss them and the moments will forever linger in my heart.
I will miss the baby caresses against my breast as if a newborn is saying there is nothing in the world that will make them less content. I will miss the feeling of someone else in my body, knowing that they are fully cared for and away from any and all harm. I will miss holding my tiny ones in one arm (they were all no longer then a loaf of bread), rocking them to sleep and hearing the coos of happiness from their sweet baby lips.
Yes, there is much to miss when your babies are all out of babyhood. But now two of my three are in toddler hood and my oldest is in childhood. What magical things will befall them? How will their imaginations grow and thrive? Which one will be my Peter Pan and never want to grow up (not Goosie, she is too ready to be 5!).
There have been many job titles I have had over the years. But 6 years ago when I became pregnant with Goosie, I earned a new one. It was not one that an employer gave me, but my heavenly father who has so richly blessed me with my children, that I am called their Mom. Each day as they grow and change I feel so unworthy of the wonderful blessings that they are to me. And each day I stand back in awe of who they are becoming and where God is taking them. Yes, infant hood and babyhood have passed forever in my house (until I have grandchildren). But there have been so many wonderful deposits in my emotional account that I will be able to draw from them for many many years to come.

Cupbards and Clubhouses

Anyone who has ever been to my house knows how small my kitchen is. I am not complaining, I can still cook in a small kitchen. It's the storage I need the most. In every house we have lived in Goosie has had a cupboard to herself as a club house to play in. This has never really been an issue, until now. Miniman has a clubhouse, Goosie has a clubhouse and now Bubbles wants one too. There aren't many to choose from as there are only 3 use able cupboards in my kitchen. But now all three of my lovies have a club house and I once again have figured out something else with the things I am supposed to put in them.
This is the outside of Goosie's clubhouse. It is rather unassuming sitting beside the dishwasher. Unless you have been to my house you wouldn't think that this is where an almost 5 year old keeps her most valuable treasures. Open it and you will see some what of a mess unless I have helped her clean it out. Luckily she doesn't take any food or drinks in there!
You all may find it humorous to know that I once hid in this club house while playing a game of hide and seek. Goosie was so surprised when she found me. Her exclamation was something like this: " Mommy what are you doing in there!, You are so silly"

To the left is the again unassuming exterior of Miniman's club house. It is not one I can get into thankfully! But he gets into it just fine! He likes to store his race cars in his club house and every now and then he will climb into it (with flashlight in hand) and stay in for a while. Who knows what he does in there! But he is quiet and out of the way so I don't mind.

To the right is inside Miniman's little haven. His prized cars are in the bottom, along with Larry Boy (action figure). He really enjoys having his own space that he doesn't have to share. After all the other places in the house are communal spaces (except the bathroom) we have an open floor plan, so a little nook just for you is pretty special.

To your left once again is an unassuming cupboard. It is the narrowest of them all, but then it is for the smallest. Goosie "found" it for her after asking me to get Bubbles out of her clubhouse. Bubbles is quite happy with it and so far no treasures have been placed inside. Instead she climbs inside and plays peek a boo with whomever is just outside of it.

And to your right, there she is! Ready to play peek a boo. Interestingly enough Goosie is in the very back of Bubbles club house. I had to remind her that if she wanted to get into Bubbles club house then Bubbles was allowed in hers. I don't think she liked that very much.
Well, I hope you have found my latest entry at least a little amusing. My three lovies sure do keep things interesting! I was talking to my friend H and she told me that she doesn't know if she could give up the only three cupboards in her kitchen. I think it is worth it. It beats trying to set up tents everyday, and when it is time to clean up the house, all the toys go in the clubhouses.. and no one is the wiser, except for now!

Weaning and Surgery Plans

Last night was the first night. Today is the aftermath. Bubbles has not nursed since Thursday early morning, and she is not happy! She slept with Hubby last night on the couch. He said that she woke up every hour wanting her nursies. I feel badly, but then I also must admit that I don't. She has had longer then the other two, and I must admit that she really likes them. It is just time. With the surgery pending and me leaving for a few days next weekend, I actually think I should have started a while ago. When we got back from SC I stopped nursing her during the day, now the night time is gone too. Hubby isn't getting as much sleep. I am ashamed to admit that I slept better last night then I have in the last year (not including the pregnancy).
It is a bit of a rough transition, weaning a little one. But it is a necessity. There are just somethings that don't need to continue past the first year.
Bubbles won't let me out of her sight and that is not really that surprising. What was a little surprising was that when Hubby left this morning, she threw a fit! All out! I had to blow in her face to get her to breathe again! I am reminded of the two other times we have done this. In the first year I hear countless times that the baby doesn't want Hubby. But as soon as we start the weaning process, baby doesn't want anything to do with me and everything to do with Hubby. What a shocker huh?
I am trying to get things done around the house as usual. I already have a game plan in place for the surgery. The Friday before I will go in for a markup, then I will be in surgery bright and early Monday morning. Hubby is going to take some time off, about a week and a half or two. A few days before he goes back to work my parents will come up to help for the remainder. The Doctor says I should only pick something up that weighs the same as a gallon of milk for 3 weeks. I am sure if I need more help my parents will stay on, if possible. There is so much to do! I am praying for a quick non complicated recovery. And yes, I will post modest before and after pictures. I am quite excited as I realized that I will be able to wear a dress this year that I haven't worn since before I was pregnant with Goosie. That is a great reward! The other good thought is that when Hubby and I plan on renewing our wedding vows I will be able to fit in to my dress again! That is a thought that makes me feel really good! Now to work on my belly, so I am off to exercise!

My Life Altering News..

I am one of those women who blossomed quite early. I totally skipped training bra's and was a full C before high school. Since having children they have only gotten bigger. Because of their size I have been limited in things I can enjoy doing. I used to love to run, now it hurts too much. I try to do yoga, but some of the poses are not that easy when the girls are hitting you in the face.
Since having Bubbles, I have lost a whole lot of weight. I have not bought too many clothes because I am a medium/small on the bottom and a large/extra large on the top.
My way of coping with this has always been to make jokes about it, and Hubby has helped with that too!
After Goosie was born he started saying that he didn't know how she survived nursing at night and not getting suffocated. I have a picture of her as a new born, and my boob is bigger then her head, at least twice the size if not more. See what I mean. After each child, they grew. When Goosie was done nursing I was an E, after Miniman a G and now after Bubbles I am an H. They are no fun let me tell you. And women who do not have large breasts wonder why I want to have surgery to have them reduced. The truth is, they hurt. I have back, neck, and shoulder pains, Not to mention the many times in the summer I need to powder myself, so I don't have sores underneath them. There are the looks I get from people. Let's face it I am 4 ft 9 in and my chest enters a room before my body does. When it comes to finding a formal dress every year, I am almost at a loss and have had to go with a two piece more then once. There are definite issues with being large chested.
The story really starts after I had Miniman. He was 6 months old and I thought we were done. I was in the tub cleaning the kids one night ( I had already scheduled a consult with a plastic surgeon). Goosie was hiding her toys under one of my breasts, and Miniman wasn't really paying much attention. Hubby was shaving his head so that he could save a little time in the morning. He struck up a conversation and it went something like this:

Hubby: so after you have surgery will you be able to breastfeed
Me: I have heard of some women being able too, but the chances are slim
Hubby: I don't know if I am ready for you to have the surgery
Me: Ok, what are you saying?
Hubby: Well I have been thinking about it and all I want to say is that if you were to go in to see the Dr, have the birth control taken out and ended up pregnant I wouldn't be upset.
Me: So you want another baby?
Hubby: Yes, I do and I want you to be able to breastfeed the new baby like you have been able to with Goosie and Miniman.

To say the least dear readers I was a bit floored. You could say as floored as I could be sitting in the bath tub. All the same I thought we were done. But Hubby wanted one more. So after Miniman was a year old we started trying to conceive again and 1 year and 4 months later Bubbles was born. We have since discussed having another child and both of us are in agreement that our collective sanity couldn't take much more then we already have. And what a blessing our three children are!
So about two months ago I had a consult with the plastic surgeon. Last week all the paperwork was submitted to the insurance company. I received a call today that the insurance approved the procedure, they are covering 100% of the cost and my surgery is scheduled for next month. Hubby will be putting in for time off and I have already asked my parents if one or both of them could come and help with the kids as I will not be able to lift them for three weeks. So that is my life changing news. I am excited, but at the same time a little scared. So please dear readers keep me in your prayers. I will go in for surgery on the 17th of August.

Okay Here is a Thought, warning it was a deep one and probably not the first blog I will write on the subject..

Dad, Hubby and I were watching a program this evening when a commercial came on for another show. It was a Ghost hunter type show, and I heard a "Humph". It was very audible and when I was ready for bed I looked over at Hubby and asked if he believed in ghosts. His reply was "yeah, I guess so". So here is my thought process.. let me warn you this may get deep for some of you, for others that have known me a long time, you know that my thinking is the most profound at night (go figure!).

I heard 10 or so years ago that this world is the closest Christians will ever be to hell, and like wise it is the closest non-Christians will ever be to Heaven. That being taken into consideration, I believe that there are ghosts, spirits, angels and demons that walk among us.

Would it not be sheer torture to only be able to watch others have a relationship with God, to never have had one yourself and to be forever so close yet so very far away? So if you believe in God, I think that you should open yourself up to at least consider the possibility's that there are things that exist out there. I don't know if there is such a place as the fire and brimstone I heard so much about growing up. To me hell is the total absence of God. I believe Jesus first started experiencing it on the cross when God turned away from him. It is certainly place I don't ever want to experience. But onto another tangent, because that one is another blog all in it's self.

Are there ghosts? Yes. I am certain there are just as I am certain there are angels and demons. There are ghosts. For some reason a persons spirit is trapped here on the earthly realm. Think of Ebenezer Scrooge's story. His friend that visited him on the first night was chained here, always able to see and experience, but never to interfere. All the missed opportunities he had in his physical life, he was making up for in his spiritual. Missed opportunities aren't the only thing that could keep you here. There are some that stay to comfort others, to protect some and still there are others of the not so kind variety. These I think are linked closer to demons. What ever they are here for, it is obvious that they are here. There are many people who have died yet their loved ones say that they feel that persons spirit around them. There are others who have dabbled in or are practicing witchcraft and know that when they open themselves up, even if it is something with good intentions that there is a possibility that something can happen.

Even in the world of evangelism there are those who battle against these kinds of things regularly. And when preforming an exorcism the one preforming it and all those around need to be aware of the possibilities of what can happen. It would take nothing for a spirit to attach it's self onto the unsuspecting, and continue to thrive. That is why we need to guard ourselves and not try to deny that none of this is possible. In the Hebrews it gives an example of spiritual armor and reminds us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, in other words there are other things out there that we don't see.
Yes, the Christianity that is so popular now is one of a kind and loving God. He is kind and loving, but he also is in command of an entire army of angels. All of which the believer can call to their aid if and when needed. Many would like to spout out that we are in the last day's and maybe we are, so don't you think we as believers should rise up, put on the full armor of God and be ready, and when all else fails to stand?

I have never dabbled in the art of Magic, I have never felt a draw to it. But there are some that I know that were drawn to it and as far as I know still practicing. At times they have called me for advice and sometimes they have feared my judgment (although I try not to judge anyone). More often then not my response to them is first: "Do you know what you are getting yourself into" second " are there people you can trust and turn to if you get in over your head" and thirdly I remind them that I don't agree with what they are choosing to do, but it is their choice and I will pray for their safety. I don't really see how much else I can do.

I used to really enjoy a good ghost story. I checked them out regularly from the library when I was younger. A good story still gives me chills.. lets face it anything that goes bump in the night, you wanna find out what, right?? I think my brain can rest from this one for a bit. Just remember never do anything faster then your guardian angel can fly... and God is always watching you for whomever God has placed in his protection there is nothing on this earth they need to fear. Job said it best when he said that though others may slander God, he will stand no matter what may come his way. So as long as you have your battle gear on, I say... let it come.

My Yard and Other Things

So while my Dad is here we have been able to do a heck of a lot of yard work. This area(at the front of the house near the living room) used to have a dead Japanese cherry tree in it (the center of the circle). Dad was able to up root it, it was pot bound when they planted it so there was almost no chance of it living for longer then it did, it actually died over the winter. So in it's place I put a lilac tree, there is a hydrangea to the right of it, then some day lilies surrounding the boarder of the flower bed. It took about two and a half, three days and about $65.00 from start to finish, but I think it was worth it. As the plants mature they will fill in the space and it will be both fragrant and green. I made sure to get perennials so I only have to do the planting once.
Here is the other side of the front yard, by the garage. When we moved in there was a garbage pile here (grass clippings, tree limbs etc.). I wanted to do something with it but wasn't sure. Dad once again said that he didn't mind helping me. Be careful what you say people, I will put you to work. I had weeded the area before going to SC, but by the time I got back the weeds were as tall as I am (4ft at least) and the dandelions alone were as big as cabbages. So once again the weeding commenced and then there was the digging planting, the laying out of weed barrier fabric and a few bags of mulch. We only worked in the morning, so the kids were able to get outside and play while we worked. Bubbles didn't like being restrained to one area so on the last day of work we let her run loose (boy was she fun to keep up with). It cost me $55.00 for all the plants and supplies to get this side of the yard done. Once again all of these are perennials so the planting is only done once. The four trees in the back are dwarf spruces so they should get to be about 5 or 6 feet tall. Then there are the lilies and other flowers around a shrub that I transplanted. Again many of these plants should fill in the space as they mature and it will be both green and fragrant.
In this area of the yard a Golden Finch decided to make her nest in one of the shrubs that were already there. I had wanted to prune the shrubs so that they would look better, but didn't want to disturb the momma and her babies. I was able to take a picture of them. I know you can really only see one baby bird in the very center, but there are three of them in there. Now to keep the plants watered and the kids away so these little guys can get big and we can watch them at one of the man bird feeders I have placed around the yard.
All in all it has been a very fulfilling weekend. Dad is here for a few more days so we will be able to visit a bit in the air conditioning.. instead of the morning sun. Hubby had a rough weekend. It was one really long headache. Only yesterday he was starting to feel a little better. He went in for a CT scan this morning and we should be able to start ruling things out soon. I just want to know what is going on. So please keep him in your prayers.
The kids and I are glad to be home and with all the things that have been going on lately we have been kept busy. Speaking of keeping busy, I will be taking a trip alone to Minneapolis next weekend for training with the FRG. It will be Hubby's first weekend totally alone with the kids as I cannot take any of them with me. I will be flying out on Friday and back in on Sunday. Hubby voiced his concern about Bubbles and her sleeping/nursing habits. I replied that we are weaning her from breastfeeding and if/when I go back to work at night I won't be able to just rush home whenever she wants to nurse herself back to sleep. The older two are sleeping in their beds for the most part and I am hopeful that it will continue even after I am away for a weekend.
Well enough for now dear readers. I have some house cleaning to get done and I think the kids are getting antsy again. Be blessed until next time!

Just some thoughts

I am sitting here at my new little office space. Looking out the window at the house next door that is up for sale. The Goosie is running around the house in her new shoes. Miniman's timer has just gone off, so he is once again free from time out. Potty training is going as well as it can be. He loves his marshmallows so that is at least something. Bubbles is walking around the house and her gait reminds me of the old western movies, you know the ones with the cowboys who just got off their horse. I keep looking at her half expecting her to say " well how ya doin pilgrim?". But she just smiles and shows me the four square teeth in her little mouth.
In all the visiting we did last month, one of the things I kept hearing was how much my daughters are like me. Goosie looks like me, and Bubbles acts like me... oh boy am I in for it! Both of them are just great! Hubby and I were watching TV last night and Bubbles was not interested in going to sleep. All she wanted to do was play. Miniman had fallen asleep already and Goosie of course was supposed to be settling down. Alas, it didn't happen. Goosie was holding on to Bubbles hands and walking her around the house. At times they would both fall down with peels of laughter. I couldn't help but look over at Hubby and thank him for having children with me.
I feel so entirely blessed. My Dad is coming to visit tomorrow and I will be making a feast! I am super excited! Homemade Lasagna, Garlic Bread and I wish they were fresh from the garden green beans, but my little garden hasn't produced enough yet. I am planning on making a homemade cherry pie. I have heard that it has been a while since he has had one. The bonus is that I have a dentist appointment in the morning. What a way to start out the long weekend. Well, the kids are in need of me once again so I must cease and assist. I will write more sometime dear readers, until then.. be blessed!
